Spiritual Growth

The world is desperately in need of men and women of a unique spiritual caliber.

Our God is after believers who are thoroughly acquainted with HIS heart and HIS ways. Men and women who will accurately represent HIM in reverence, courage and boldness wherever HE may need their service.

A believer who is not actively growing spiritually is a believer who is stunted and who will likely resort to diluting the message of the gospel and it’s credibility. When we invest in our spiritual growth, every aspect of our lives begins to grow and come under the complete submission and governance of the light of heaven. It is then, that we are able to encourage, challenge, stretch, inspire others –leaving this world a better place.

The writings you will find on JosiahJude.ORG in this category will be on the subject of Bible intake, on prayer, on worship, on soul-winning and on complete devotion to the LIVING God.

Convictions are not preferences. And we must know the difference and teach the difference with clarity. Like Luther, we should be able to stand alone if we must and with deep conviction cry out:

Unless I am convinced by Scripture and by plain Reason — and not by Popes and Councils who have so often contradicted themselves — my conscience is captive to the Word of God. To go against conscience is neither right nor safe. I cannot and will not recant. So help me God. I can do no other.

Martin Luther

If we feast upon tweets, flashy posts in lieu of the Word, and if we neglect prayer to scroll for updates on what everyone is doing next-door–we will not meet the pressing need of our time. Samuel, Isaiah, Elijah, Debra, Jeremiah, and Amos all proved to be an answer in a time of turbulence because the knew their God well.

The writings and resources we share are designed to help God’s chosen people to build on what is true, rather than what is simply acceptable. Faith in the living God breeds courage. A virtue needed to avoid falling into the common trap of an identity crisis. We are living in a day when the lines between convictions and preferences are becoming more and more blurred. Our work is to ensure the distinction between the two remains clear as we work to pass down our faith to the next generation.

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. –Colossians 1:9-10

For His glory!

Journey well.
